Terms of use
This site is informational. What it produces is arithmetic on the figures you enter, using rates read from published sources — not tax advice, not an official document, and not something any authority is bound by.
What you get
Arithmetic on the figures you enter, using rates and tables read from published sources and cited on the page. Nothing more, and the site is explicit about the boundary: it produces a number from your inputs, it does not tell you whether those inputs are the right ones for your situation.
What it is not
Not tax advice, not legal advice, and not an official document. Nothing here binds the Revenue Commissioners, the Department of Transport, an employer, or anybody else, and nothing here is a substitute for advice about your own circumstances.
This site is independent. It is not the Revenue Commissioners, not a government service, and has no affiliation with either — as the about page says.
Accuracy, honestly stated
Every figure is read from a primary source and carries that source with it, and the build refuses a number that has none. That is a real discipline and it is not the same as a guarantee.
Rates change, usually by a Finance Act and sometimes with weeks of notice. A figure here may be out of date before this site notices. Nothing on this site has been through a final sign-off by a named reviewer, which is why the word “verified” does not appear anywhere on it. Where this site and a cited source disagree, the cited source governs.
The methodology page sets out exactly how the figures are checked, which single decision the site had to make for itself, and the three things it deliberately refuses to answer.
Liability
The site is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, no liability is accepted for any loss arising from reliance on it. If a decision matters — a price you are about to charge, a registration threshold you are near, a deadline you are counting to — check it against the source cited on the page, and take advice.
Using the content
The underlying law and the Revenue material this site cites are the property of the State and are reproduced under the terms those bodies publish them on. The wording, tables and calculators on this site are ours. Quote them with a link; do not republish them wholesale.
Governing law
These terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the law of Ireland, and the Irish courts have jurisdiction.
